COVID-19 Advisory
During these unprecedented and uncertain times, we want to assure you that Praus Construction is still here and still able to handle your construction and storm damage restoration projects. Of course, Mother Nature does not stop for COVID-19, and we are not stopping either.
As concerns may arise with regards to contact and COVID-19, we have been perfecting a digital, contactless process for a few months now. This digital process will allow us to inspect your property, review damage, and even take care of the entire process without the need for a face-to-face meeting. Admittedly, getting to know our clients and having that interaction is something that we do value, but during this season, you can rest assured that your safety is also a very high priority to us.
Please feel free to reach out with questions about how we can best help with your property, and we’d be happy to walk through this process with you.

What happens after a damaging storm?
When a north Texas hail or wind storm comes through the area, causing damage to your home or business, you may be asking yourself “What’s next?, What do I do now?” This is a question that we hear regularly from many homeowners and business owners as they are trying to get a handle on how to restore their property.
For homeowners, you may be experiencing the onslaught of contractors knocking on the door, offering deals that sound too good to be true. While the number of fly-by-night and out of town contractors increase significantly after a hail storm, how can you know that you are working with a contractor that will restore your property using quality materials and labor, have the work done right the first time, and honor their workmanship by providing and maintaining warranty coverage?
The answer is to use a trusted, local contractor, like Praus Construction, that has years of history and experience in working with insurance companies to make sure that you are represented, protected, and ultimately satisfied with a long-lasting repair, restoring your property to better-than-new condition in many cases.

Common Insurance Questions
I've never filed a claim - what happens?
I've never filed a claim - what happens?
Filing an insurance claim does not have to be a scary or worrisome process. The process begins with a simple phone call. However, you are best served by finding a trusted, local contractor with experience to represent you. This is where we shine. As your advocate, we work with the insurance company to make sure that your property is fully restored.
Will my rates increase because I file a claim?
Will my rates increase because I file a claim?
No, your rates will not increase because you file a storm damage claim. In the State of Texas, it is unlawful for an insurance company to raise the rates of a homeowner BECAUSE they filed a claim. However, as damage covers an entire area and can really add up, it is likely that many insurance premiums will increase, whether a claim was filed or not.
My claim was denied - what do I do now?
My claim was denied - what do I do now?
If your claim was denied after a storm, that does not necessarily mean that you have no damage. There can be many factors causing a claim denial, from inexperienced adjusters to tight budgets. This is where Praus Construction comes in, walking you through the process, and going to bat for you to make sure that your property is fully restored.

WE TAKE CARE OF THE HARD WORK
Our Customers Say
Aaron Gaunt with Prauss Construction is amazing to work with! The company is qualified and my #1 choice to refer to my clients – as a top producing Realtor it is so important to have a contractor you can trust. They also helped replace the roof on my own house- the level of professionalism and customer service can’t be beat! They kept it stress free for me, worked with insurance and handled all the details. The roof was replaced in a timely manner and everything kept very clean. I can’t recommend them enough!
This company was so helpful when we had the big 4″ hail in Highland Village, TX. I couldn’t believe what all was messed up and when I talked to Praus, they came out and explained everything so well. They helped me understand the process of getting my roof fixed and all the other damage. Decision-making was much easier. Then when it was “new roof day”, they were so efficient in how quickly the process was going and what a great job they did!!! They are so professional and knowledgeable.
We used Praus for our home construction needs after a 2017 hail storm. John from the Praus team was fantastic and walked us through the entire process…from dealing with our insurance company to ensuring we we comfortable with all of the work completed. John was available day or night (and even weekends) to answer any questions. The team did quality work and I would highly recommend Praus and John for any home construction needs.
Fantastic company. Local as well. They made the process so easy, without any worries or hiccups along the way. None of this would have been possible without Project Manager Scot Campbell who oversaw the details of the roof replacement, ensuring there were no issues. Scot did an incredible job and I haven’t had any issues with the roof since. In fact, the new roof is better than the old, high-end builder roof. I would use them again without question. Thanks!
Praus Construction representative Michael Geddie was very professional in his handling of the hail damage repairs to our home which we experienced as a result of the hail storm of March 2017. Due to circumstances of being away at the time of the re-roofing, Michael provided photos and messages via text keeping us up to date. Michael’s personal involvement with our insurance claims adjuster and us was top notch service few contractors provide. FIVE STAR SERVICE!
